In accordance with Memorandum No. PAJ 26-02 from the Office of the President, the University will participate in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on 10 September 2026, 2:00 PM onwards.
This initiative is part of the University’s continuing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience across the UP System. It also provides an opportunity to further improve coordination and response based on the outcomes of the previous earthquake drill.
All participating Colleges, Offices, and Units are reminded of the following:
1. Ensure that the time is synchronized among all observers.
2. All participating Colleges/Offices/Units shall use the Observation Checklist () to help assess responses, adherence to procedures, communication effectiveness, and overall drill execution.
3. Record the time accurately in the Observation Checklist.
4. All participating Colleges, Offices, and Units of the CUs shall submit situational reports through the IRS Form (). The IRS should be completed during the drill itself.

Please be advised that an emergency siren will be used during the drill. This is part of the simulation to familiarize everyone with evacuation procedures and audible alarms. We encourage all constituents to remain calm and avoid unnecessary panic throughout the activity.
Siren sequence during the drill will be as follows:
1-minute continuous siren – Signals the start of the earthquake drill. Open the door, Duck, Cover, and Hold.
3 short siren blasts – Signals the beginning of the evacuation phase. Evacuate the building in a calm and orderly manner.
1 long siren – Signals “All Clear.” Participants may then begin re-entering the building.
We encourage everyone to actively participate and follow established safety and evacuation procedures throughout the drill.
